Hawley: Important Insurance Tips To Help Residents Recover From Snowstorms
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) is providing residents affected by the recent Western New York snowstorms with information that can be used when making insurance claims related to weather damage. Hawley noted that one of his top priorities is to protect those affected by the massive snowfall in recent days and ensure they have the financial means to continue a normal lifestyle and the tools to place insurance claims for property damage.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the thousands of families affected by the record snowfall in Western New York,” Hawley said. “As the snow begins to melt and residents begin to assess property damage, a crucial step in the recovery process is learning to navigate insurance claims. I have included an information sheet from the New York Insurance Association that will assist residents who need to use their homeowner and business insurance to make repairs in the wake of this terrible storm.”
Hawley said it is important for businesses to get back up and running and that the more resources available to residents, the easier the recovery process will be. Information from the New York Insurance Association includes general insurance guidelines, tips for making a claim, information regarding temporary and permanent repairs and contact information. Hawley’s comments come after multiple snowstorms dumped several feet of snow on the Buffalo and Western New York area.
