Assemblyman Steve Hawley To Attend Press Conference Calling For Local Funding Of Roads, Bridges
***Media Advisory***For Thursday, December 10, 2015
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) will attend a press conference on Thursday, December 10 at 2:30 p.m. in Canandaigua. The event is being held by Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C-Canandaigua) and will focus on increased funding for local roads, bridges and highways. Recently, New York State agreed to deliver $8.3 billion to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and discussions have loomed about sending over $2 billion downstate for a new Tappan Zee Bridge. “Over the past couple of years, we have seen record amounts of funding go downstate to the MTA and other various infrastructure projects,” Hawley said. “Western New York winters wreak havoc on our roads, bridges and highways, and it is about time that Albany focuses on all of New York and not just downstate. Our citizens use these routes every day, and their maintenance is vital to the safety and productivity of our families and businesses.”
