Assemblyman Steve Stern Delivers for our Local Libraries

Critical Funding Secured for Cold Spring Harbor and Half Hollow Hills

Huntington, NY – Assemblyman Steve Stern (D-10th AD) announced that funding has been secured for the Cold Spring Harbor and Half Hollow Hills Public Libraries for public library infrastructure projects. The Cold Spring Harbor Public Library has been awarded $94,925 in state aid to create a new space for teenagers. “Our new Teen/Media Center will be a 700 square foot room that is inviting, comfortable and professionally designed for teens,” CSHPL Director Dr. Roger Podell said. “Teens will use the room to study, socialize, work in collaborative groups, enjoy games and entertainment, and participate in library programs.” He added that adults can access the space during the school day. “I would like to express my appreciation to Assemblyman Stern for securing this vital construction aid.”

​ Assemblyman Stern also secured $104,400 in funding for construction at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library (HHHCL). “Our new 21st Century library will serve the vast needs of residents of Half Hollow Hills,” said HHHCL Director Helen Crosson. “The generosity from Assemblyman Stern will have a tremendous impact on the construction of the Half Hollow Hills Community Library for generations to come.”
