"I'm a former teacher. So it took me back to the students I had, I had a resource room with students in junior high school over 20 years. And I started to recall a couple of my students who were in those situations and where they had a very positive connection, it was a positive environment and how they were much more successful than some of the other students who really had been struggling. I started to think of a couple of my students. This program sounds quite impressive ," said Assemblymember Ellen Jaffee, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Children and Families, addressing Earl Whitted, Behavior Therapist at The Children's Village at a public hearing held by the Assembly Standing Committee on Children and Families to examine the impact of the State budget on supports for foster parents and caretakers of children removed from their homes.
