Assemblyman Fall Announces That the Cooking Gas Interruption at Stapleton Houses Will Be Fully Rectified by Today
Assemblyman Charles D. Fall (D-Richmond) would like to thank Mayor Eric Adams for his swift action on addressing the cooking gas problems that was affecting approximately 100 families living at 181 Gordon Street – Stapleton Houses NYCHA.
Since the summer of 2021, NYS Assemblyman Fall has been diligently working with the city administration and the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to expedite and rectify the problem of cooking gas service interruption.
Additionally, Assemblyman Fall worked with NYCHA to identify vacant units within 181 Gordon Street to allow residents effected by the service interruption to use the community kitchens while the matter was being rectified. This family style solution was only meant to be a short-term fix, and NYCHA has agreed to maintain the units and sanitize per COVID protocols.
“I applaud Mayor Adams and NYCHA for working with my office on this quality of life issue faced by the residents at Stapleton Houses. You can be assured that I will continue to work with my colleagues to not only protect NYCHA residents but also ensure that they have adequate living arrangements,” said Assemblyman Charles D. Fall
