Assemblyman Fall Partners with Small Business to Make Second Fitness Equipment Donation to FDNY
Staten Island, NY – For the second time, Assemblyman Charles D. Fall, in partnership with Steve Tanen, owner of Transformation Fitness Studio, has stepped up to support Staten Island’s first responders by donating new fitness equipment—this time to FDNY Engine 157/Ladder 80 in Port Richmond.
“Our firefighters give everything they have – day in and day out – to protect our community,” said Assemblyman Fall. “The work they do is physically and mentally demanding, requiring a level of strength and endurance that few truly understand. They train relentlessly so they can respond in moments of crisis, preparing for the unknown to make certain they’re always ready when duty calls. Having the right equipment is essential to that preparation, ensuring they can perform at their best when lives are on the line. This donation is a small way to express our gratitude for their service and sacrifice for keeping us safe. They always show up for us, and we will continue to show up for them.”
The donation includes a variety of essential fitness equipment to enhance the training capabilities at the firehouse, such as an elliptical machine, a squat rack, a full set of curl and straight bars ranging from 20 to 50 pounds, various dumbbells, weight plates, an Olympic bar, and boxing equipment.
“As a fitness professional, I know firsthand how critical strength and endurance are, especially for firefighters who rely on their physical conditioning in life-or-death situations,” said Tanen. “I am honored to contribute to equipping our firefighters with the resources they need to train effectively, maintain their strength, and continue safeguarding our community.”
Robert Unger, Staten Island Trustee for the Uniformed Firefighters Association, highlighted the significance of the donation:
“NYC firefighters are constantly putting their lives on the line in extremely physical situations. Therefore, it’s important to stay in excellent physical and mental condition. This donated equipment from Assemblyman Charles Fall will go to great use and shows his commitment to the members of the FDNY, the Port Richmond community, and the rest of Staten Island. It’s well appreciated.”
