Assemblyman Charles D. Fall Acknowledges MTA Electric Bus Rollout on Staten Island

Assemblyman Charles D. Fall (D-Richmond) commended the MTA’s rollout of 100 replacement buses, 62 of which are clean electric and set for Staten Island routes by 2021.

The New York State Assembly passed sweeping allocations this year for investing in 21st century transportation infrastructure. In part, the funding would not only assist in upgrades to our bridges, tunnels and subways, but include more bus service and bus lanes to increase accessibility to public transit.

“It was unfortunate that there was a scheduled press conference during the last days of the 2019 New York State Legislative session when primary funding came from the state.

However, I applaud the MTA and my fellow Assembly colleagues for funding and implementing these busses for Staten Island residents. It is all about bringing forth more accessibility in public transportation, especially on the North Shore. The fact that we are receiving 62 busses that are clean electric is by far an added benefit for our environmental future,” said Fall.
