Lavine Responds to Unprecedented Flooding in Glen Cove with Letter to Mayor
Glen Cove, New York – Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-North Shore) has sent a letter to the mayor and members of the Glen Cove City Council in response to complaints about drainage following heavy rainstorms which resulted in severe flooding.
In his letter, Lavine notes that he met with Woolsey Avenue residents who expressed their concern and frustration at a recent city council meeting. Lavine says that “global heating and an ancient sewar drainage system” are to blame. He says he looks forward to helping Glen Cove obtain New York State funding, mentioning additional resources available through the Clean Water Infrastructure Act, the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, and the Green Resiliency Grant Program.
