Lavine Urges Review of Procedures Following Medical Emergency During Bar Exam

Glen Cove, New York – Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-North Shore) has sent a letter to the New York State Board of Law Examiners after a test taker suffered a medical emergency during a bar exam. Lavine, who serves as Chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, expressed his “deep concern” over the incident which took place at Hofstra University. Lavine noted “the response to the situation appeared disorganized, delayed, and lacking in clear protocol” and urged a thorough review of the matter to prevent any recurrence.
