Assemblyman Ra’s ‘Valentine’s for Veterans’ Program Delivers More Than 1,000 Cards, Essential Supplies to Local Vets

Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) teamed up with the Mineola School District, Mineola Memorial Library and Hillside Public Library to celebrate his annual Valentine’s for Veterans program, an initiative to honor local veterans by gathering donations of personal care items, along with Valentine’s Day cards crafted by students. On Monday, Feb. 10, the collected items and more than 1,000 handmade cards were delivered to the Long Island State Veterans Home and the Northport VA to show appreciation for veterans’ service and sacrifices.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the Mineola School District, Mineola Memorial Library, Hillside Public Library and all the students and community members who participated in this year’s Valentine’s for Veterans program. Their generosity and thoughtfulness help remind our local veterans how much their service is appreciated. Delivering these heartfelt cards and essential items is a small but meaningful way to say ‘thank you,’” said Ra.
