Albany Dysfunction Continues With 10th Budget Extender Passed Today
A Statement by Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square), ranking Minority member on the Assembly Ways and Means Committee.

“Passing an extender with no budget bills in print three days after a ‘deal’ was announced is the height of dysfunction. While the governor is running victory laps across the state, families, school districts, local municipalities, hospitals, direct care providers, law enforcement, and so many others across New York are still left in the dark, unsure of what’s being negotiated behind closed doors, or how it will impact them.
Fifteen years in the Assembly, and I’ve never seen Albany this dysfunctional, this disorganized or this disconnected from the people it’s supposed to serve. I’ll say what I’ve said before and what remains true: ‘This is not how government is supposed to work.’
