Assemblyman Edward Ra (21st Assembly District) recently joined his colleagues in thanking all of New York’s service members, including cadets, for their sacrifice by sponsoring a legislative resolution in their honor. The annual West Point Day, held on April 26, celebrates the military academy’s indispensable role in New York State history as the longest continually operated military outpost in America.

“I want to thank Brig. Gen. Timothy Trainor and all the cadets who made the trip to Albany for this exciting day,” said Ra. “Seeing these brave young men and women walking the halls of the Capitol reminds us how lucky we are to live in this great nation. I also want to take this opportunity to once again thank all of our veterans and their families for the sacrifices they have made on our behalf.

“It is my hope that each and every one of these outstanding individuals will find success and safety not only as they lead their comrades in the field, but long after they choose to move on from their military service.”
