Ra Attends Emerging Leaders Conference

Assemblyman Ed Ra (Franklin Square-R) attended the Emerging Leaders Conference held at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia last week, July 7 to 10. Over 40 state legislators from throughout the country were selected to attend the event after being nominated by state legislative leaders.

“I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in the Emerging Leaders Conference,” said Ra. “It was a privilege to have met and worked with the other remarkable legislators in attendance. The conference provided me with valuable discussions and great insight to how state representatives across the country are approaching the many challenges of the 21st century. I look forward to sharing what I have learned with my colleagues back in Albany.”

This year’s Emerging Leaders Conference, sponsored by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation, provided a variety of topics for participants to explore. Discussion topics included personal leadership, values and ethics in governance, and public service. In addition to those topics, the program also focused on a legislator’s role as a consensus builder and facilitator of compromise to meet the challenges of the modern world.
