Dinowitz Praises DOT for Prompt Graffiti Removal on Kappock Street and Johnson Avenue

Bronx - Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (D-Bronx) is praising the work of the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) for their prompt and comprehensive removal of graffiti in his district. Following a series of constituent complaints called into 311, DOT officials quickly took action and cleaned the graffiti located on the Kappock Street underpass and the Johnson Avenue retaining wall. The problem was first reported to the DOT in mid-July and took less than 3 weeks to be dealt with by the city.

“As I have said countless times, graffiti is a terrible scourge on this or any community and needs to be wiped out as quickly as possible,” Assemblyman Dinowitz said. “It isn’t just an eyesore; it’s a plague that creates a legitimate quality of life issue for the area residents who have to deal with it near their homes. I applaud the DOT for responding so quickly to our community’s complaints and thank them for doing a good job of cleaning the problem. It’s always nice to see the city be so responsive to their 311 callers.”
