Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz Praises Governor Cuomo's Address to Bronxites at Lehman College
Bronx - Governor Andrew Cuomo came to the 81st Assembly District last week, visiting Lehman College to present an abbreviated version of his recent State of the State address. Lehman President Ricardo Fernandez, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, State Senator Jeff Klein and a Lehman College student addressed the crowd before the governor gave his remarks, which were interrupted many times by applause and standing ovations.
Assemblyman Dinowitz, who also attended the full State of the State address in Albany, was once again impressed by the governor’s remarks and stated goals for New York.
“I am very pleased that the governor came to our district to address the people of the Bronx on the important issues facing New York State," Dinowitz said. "The State of the State is a blueprint for the governor's goals for this legislative session, and they are very worthwhile goals indeed. I strongly support his efforts to raise the minimum wage, to fight for equal rights for women, to strengthen our anti-gun violence laws and to fight for a fair and equitable state budget. Just as the governor's leadership was crucial in enacting marriage equality and tougher gun laws, we are also counting on his strong support on these other key issues facing the Bronx and the people of New York."
