Jensen: We Need To Help New York Recover

Assemblyman Josh Jensen (R,C,I-Greece) joined his colleagues in the Assembly Minority Conference in calling for the passage of a bill to suspend sales tax on necessities like groceries, gas and housekeeping supplies (A.8481). Inflation has caused the cost of everyday goods to skyrocket, hitting our middle-class families.

“The hardships of the pandemic, coupled with a 40-year high inflation rate, has caused extreme financial burden for middle-class families across the state,” said Jensen. “It’s critical we take action to do our part to alleviate some of the hardships our residents are facing. Suspending sales tax for two years will help provide some relief and help New Yorkers get back on their feet.”
