Jensen: $229 Billion Budget Misses the Mark

A statement from Assemblyman Josh Jensen (R,C-Greece)

“$229 billion later and more than 30 days past the original due date, we can finally say New York state has a budget, however, not one that uses New York taxpayer dollars efficiently and effectively. Like most things in life, there is some good to be found with the bad, and I do support certain aspects of the soon to be enacted full budget. But if we look at its entirety, it lacks fiscal assurance for the future in key issues, and fails to address critical issues such as affordability, public safety, and health care. After continuous delays, I expected much more out of this budget. Perhaps next time, an open and transparent dialogue that includes members of both parties will get the job done in a manner that works for all New Yorkers.”
