“Governor Hochul’s State of the State address was yet another speech filled with promises that New Yorkers have heard time and time again. Year after year, New Yorkers hear familiar rhetoric about making the state affordable and making New York safer, yet nothing changes. The governor announced some optimistic goals about putting dollars back in taxpayers’ pockets, yet she unveiled more proposals to spend those same dollars. Despite yearly promises, our state’s pressing issues remain unaddressed, and our communities continue to struggle. I’m prepared to work with the governor and my colleagues in the Assembly and Senate on today’s proposals that I support, and I will push back against plans that will jeopardize the safety of New Yorkers and jeopardize the long-term fiscal health of the Empire State and the families and businesses that call it home.” said Assemblyman Josh Jensen (R,C-Greece).
