Jensen Secures State Funding for Ridge Road Fire Department

Assemblyman Josh Jensen (R,C-Greece) joined members of the Ridge Road Fire District to unveil the newly installed Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) air cylinder filling system. The purchase and installation of this important equipment was made possible through a $50,000 grant in state funding Jensen successfully secured.

The new SCBA air filling system is a critical investment in firefighter safety, allowing emergency responders to refill breathing tanks on site quickly and efficiently. This upgrade enhances the department’s day-to-day readiness, improves training conditions and strengthens emergency response capabilities.

“As both a legislator and son of a firefighter, I understand how crucial it is to equip our first responders with the tools they need to stay safe and protect our communities,” said Jensen. “I was proud to secure $50,000 in state funding to support the Ridge Road Fire District’s acquisition and installation of this advanced SCBA air filling system. This equipment directly enhances firefighter safety and day-to-day preparedness.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Assemblyman Jensen for his continued support and recognition of the essential work our team does every day,” said Chief Sean McGarry. “This new SCBA air filling system is a vital upgrade that will directly benefit the safety of our personnel and the residents we serve.”
