Jensen Joins Calls for Rent and Landlord Relief

Assemblyman Josh Jensen (R,C,I-Greece) stood with members of the Senate and Assembly Minority Conferences to call for the state to act and distribute the approved $1.3 billion in federal funds into the hands of renters and landlords who desperately need relief. As a member of the Housing Committee, Jensen knows how critical it is for tenants and landlords to receive this aid. New York has a deadline of September 30, 2021 to distribute the funds, and any funds not disseminated may be repossessed by the federal government.

“Renters and landlords are struggling to make their bills each month. It’s critical this funding gets to the individuals who need assistance the most,” said Jensen. “As we continue to move forward, it’s crucial our state government is doing its job and distributing these funds to those in need. There’s no reason to wait, let’s get to work and deliver real relief to our renters and landlords.”
