Downstate Majority Refuses To Vote On Pension Forfeiture
Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Deerpark) blasts Assembly leadership for refusing to move on pension forfeiture
May 25, 2016
“Despite 97 percent of New Yorkers telling lawmakers to pass ethics reforms this year, the New York City Assembly Majority refuses to move on a measure that would strip corrupt politicians of their state pensions and retirement benefits. It is beyond unconscionable that Assembly leadership continues to sweep ethics reform under the rug and strong-arm members of their conference into voting against things like term limits and pension forfeiture; two highly popular measures among New Yorkers. Every day that goes by is another day that apathy and resentment grow in the public. I will continue the fight to see that dirty lawmakers don’t leave with golden parachutes.”
