“The Price Is Right” Day In Albany
A Statement from Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Batavia) on the 2017 REDC Awards
“While fostering economic growth is always something I try to encourage, the governor’s narcissistic dog and pony show needs to stop.
“The governor must’ve forgotten that this is taxpayer money while he stands up there like Bob Barker taking credit for giveaway after giveaway.
“Sadly, we are the highest taxed state in the nation and we have to give out these incentives in order for anyone to come here. The real problem that the governor or anyone else refuses to tackle is how to reform our regressive property tax system so we can lower taxes and stop the mass exodus of people from the state.
“The shameful thing out of all of this is that we won’t get this money back to close the projected $4 billion state budget deficit this spring and the governor knows that.
“Instead of giving out awards, we should sit down together in a bipartisan fashion and work to create real solutions that will help all New Yorkers.”
