Brabenec Stands Against $1.9 Billion in New Taxes in Assembly Majority One-House Budget
A Statement from Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark) on the Assembly’s One-House Budget Proposal
March 14, 2018
“I am deeply troubled that the Assembly Majority’s Budget Resolution includes $1.9 billion in new taxes, free college for illegal aliens and a slew of money devoted to New York City-centric programs.
“Furthermore, I will not support early voting, a tremendous financial burden on local governments, or bail reform – another pro-criminal initiative at our expense.
“This tax-and-spend mentality, along with the proposed freeze of property tax relief credits, is driving residents and businesses out of the state, and I will surely stand strong in the face of these radical initiatives as the budget process unfolds.”
