Brabenec Announces Funding for Local Infrastructure Improvement Projects

Over $13 million in State DOT allocations will revamp roads, bridges throughout Hudson Valley

The State Department of Transportation (DOT) will allocate $13.8 million in funding to support several infrastructure improvements projects throughout the Hudson Valley, Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark) announced today. The significant appropriation represents a major investment in much-needed repairs to local roads and bridges, and promises to have an immediate positive impact for the many residents who travel the region each day.

The state-funded initiative will focus on performing corrective and preventative maintenance to extend the service life of long-span bridges throughout the region. Major upgrades will be made to six bridges throughout the Hudson Valley including a concrete deck replacement and sidewalk repairs on Route 17A over Wawayanda Creek in the village of Warwick in Orange County. Additional repairs will take place in Westchester and Dutchess County.

“It’s no secret that many of our state’s roads and bridges are in desperate need of repair, and I am thrilled to see the DOT taking the steps necessary to address this issue here in the 98th District,” said Brabenec. “Ensuring the safety of our roadways will always be one of my top priorities, and as your representative, I will remain committed to pursuing any and all opportunities to secure state funding in support of these worthy efforts.”
