“This is a slap in the face to all law-abiding citizens who follow the law, play by the rules and earn our nation’s privileges. Bottom line – this bill is an utter disgrace

“We are sending the message to society that it’s okay to break the law because the Majority will take care of you as long as you reward them with a vote down the line.

“While the middle class continues to languish, Assembly Majority continues to prioritize legalized prostitution, pay raises for felons and, now, driver’s licenses for illegals – a shameful day in Albany.”

Brabenec was one of the first legislators against this proposal this year, and appeared on Spectrum News in early February voicing his concerns. According to a March Siena Institute Research Poll, 53 percent of New Yorkers statewide oppose granting driving rights to undocumented individuals.
