Assemblymember Wallace Secures Funding for Lancaster Youth Bureau Programs
Assemblymember Wallace secured $15,000 for youth theatre, air purifiers
Assemblymember Monica Wallace (D-Lancaster) welcomed the return of the Lancaster Youth Bureau’s Summer Theatre Workshop on August 8 by announcing she has secured $15,000 for the Lancaster Youth Bureau to purchase air purifiers, a projector, and support youth bureau programs. Following Assemblymember Wallace’s announcement, the cast launched into their first performance of the musical “All Shook Up,” featuring the music of Elvis Presley, at the Lancaster Middle School.
“The Lancaster Youth Bureau does amazing work providing services that help our youth make friends, develop character, give back to their community, and pursue happy and productive lives,” said Assemblymember Wallace. “I thank John Trojanowsky and his team at the Youth Bureau for all that they do for our kids, and I’m thrilled to be able to support their important mission.”
"Thanks to this grant funding, the Lancaster Youth Bureau will soon have air purifiers to keep the kids and staff safe by mitigating moisture and germs in the air, as well as a projector and laptop to enhance our future summer theatre productions,” said Lancaster Youth Bureau Executive Director John Trojanowsky. “We deeply appreciate the continued support from Assemblymember Wallace to further our mission of providing programs to benefit the young people and families of Lancaster."
Since taking office, Assemblymember Wallace has secured significant funding for youth services. She has secured funding to improve the Village of Lancaster splash pad, purchase games for the Depew-Lancaster Boys & Girls Club, and upgrade the Youth Bureau’s technology. She also secured funding to open the first Boys & Girls Club in Cheektowaga and renovate that club’s facilities to improve security and accessibility. In addition, she advocated for and passed budget provisions that have allocated millions in revenue from mobile sports betting to support youth sports programs.
