Assemblymember Wallace Tours Tri-Community Food Pantry, Announces State Funding

Yesterday, while on a tour of the Tri-Community Food Pantry, Assemblymember Monica Wallace announced that she has secured $10,000 in state funding for the Tri-Community Food Pantry. The food pantry, located at 722 Terrace Boulevard in Depew, provides over 9,000 meals every month to about 300 local families. Funds secured by Wallace will assist the pantry in their day-to-day operations.

“As a state legislator, it is my duty to ensure that state resources are not only coming to the 143rd Assembly District, but that they are being used in a manner that assists residents who need it most,” said Assemblymember Wallace. “The service of community-based organizations like the Tri-Community Food Pantry goes beyond the meals they provide to local families. Their commitment to education of all Western New Yorkers on the nature of hunger and poverty makes our community more compassionate and understanding of hardships faced by many of our neighbors. I am proud to secure state resources to assist Tri-Community with the great and selfless work it is doing.”

The U.S Department of Agriculture reports that more than two million New Yorkers, about 12 percent of the state’s population, do not always have the financial ability to meet their basic nutritional needs.
