Assemblymember Wallace, Lancaster Mayor Schroeder Encourage Community Participation in Upcoming Forum
Today, Assemblymember Monica Wallace and Village of Lancaster Mayor William Schroeder joined to encourage community participation in an upcoming public meeting regarding Central Avenue improvements. Lancaster residents are invited to the second floor auditorium of the Lancaster Municipal Building on Thursday, July 25 at 7:00 pm to provide input regarding Smart Growth improvements along Central Avenue. Prospective improvements include bike lanes, climate resilient bus stops, and street lighting.
Downtown Lancaster is experiencing a great transformation that is capturing the attention of Western New Yorkers, said Assemblymember Wallace. As Lancaster develops, its critical that residents have a say in the future of our community. I encourage everyone to come out and learn more about plans for Lancaster and provide your opinions and suggestions before any work begins.
Lancaster residents are proud of their community, its history, and all of the advancements it has made over the years, said Village of Lancaster Mayor Schroeder. Were working toward a goal of making our community even better for families, businesses, and visitors, and the Central Avenue project is a big component of that. To ensure that this project is a success, we need the residents of Lancaster to weigh in Thursday night.
The Lancaster Municipal Building is located at 5423 Broadway in Lancaster and the second floor auditorium is wheelchair accessible. The villages consultant for the proposal will be on hand to discuss the proposed projects and answer questions.
