Rozic Joins Latino State Legislators for NALEO Policy Institute on Economic Success for Working Families and Children
Among notable Latino state legislators selected nationwide to participate in two-day event focused on strategies for fostering economic opportunity in communities
Fresh Meadows, NY — Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D, WF-Fresh Meadows) will join the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, the nation’s preeminent Latino leadership organization, and 20 other Latino state legislators for a two-day event that will focus on the different challenges facing working families and children and strategies to boost economic success through a common sense agenda.
The event will take place October 23-24, 2015 as part of the organization’s National Policy Institute on Economic Success for Working Families & Children. During the Institute, Rozic and other state legislators will enhance their knowledge of these critical issues in a forum that promotes the discussion and analysis of federal and state policies. Participants will also have the opportunity to share model initiatives and best practices on how to protect and advance an agenda that promotes family economic success.
“This gathering comes at a critical time when more efforts are being put into developing workforce development initiatives that can help working families build sustainable careers. I am glad to be a part of the conversation to determine what practices best foster economic growth and equality for all New Yorkers,” said Rozic, Chair of the Assembly’s Subcommittee on Emerging Workforce.
While attending the Institute, Rozic will hear from national, regional and industry experts that will address the latest research, model programs, and policy recommendations on fostering economic success. The Institute curriculum will cover:

- Using Federal and State Tax Credits as Tools for Achieving Family Economic Success
- Workforce Development
- Addressing the Needs of Working Families
