Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R,C – Sand Lake) was officially sworn in to represent the 107th Assembly District today in Albany alongside the new members of the Assembly Minority Conference. Bendett comes to Albany as a successful entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience as a small business owner and after serving in the Rensselaer County Legislature. His district is comprised of parts of Columbia, Rensselaer, and Washington counties, as well as the town of Bethlehem in Albany County.
“I am humbled by the overwhelming support of our neighbors in the Capital Region who chose me to represent them in Albany, and I’m excited to start working right away to lower our oppressive cost of living, repeal cashless bail laws, support small businesses, and lower taxes,” Bendett said.
“The Assembly Minority Conference is also the most diverse it has ever been and I’m proud to serve alongside colleagues who have immigrated here and who embody the American dream,” Bendett continued. “One such colleague, Lester Chang, is the first Asian-American Republican elected to the state Assembly and I’m looking forward to serving alongside him for years to come. Thank you to Leader Barclay and the entire conference for their support and confidence in me throughout my campaign and election.”
