Bendett: Looking Out for Hard-Working New Yorkers One Bill at A Time
Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R,C-Sand Lake) was proud to see his first bill passed in the Assembly Chamber on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. This bill will amend the criminal procedure law in order to designate animal control officers in the Town of Sand Lake as peace officers (A.5371). Bendett has worked tirelessly to prioritize legislation that is fiscally responsible and aims to safeguard the rights of localities throughout rural Columbia and Rensselaer counties. He hopes this bill is the first of many he has sponsored that will pass, providing localities with the means to succeed as well as the authority required to protect local rule.
“I am incredibly proud to represent the hard-working people of District 107, and I am very excited that a bill of mine that will help strengthen our rural communities in upstate New York has passed,” said Bendett. “Properly recognizing those who work to keep us safe and healthy in any capacity is a top priority of mine and this bill is only the beginning. I will continue to fight for local communities so they have the voice they deserve as well as the ability to secure their own financial futures.”
