Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R,C-Sand Lake) participated in a check presentation at the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office this morning alongside local leaders as well as fire and police department representatives to thank everyone who donated to the 3rd Tunnel to Towers Fundraiser in September. Sponsors of the fundraiser included: the Troy Police Benevolent Association, the Troy Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 86, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Correction Officer Union Local 975 and the Rensselaer County Deputy Sheriff’s Police Benevolent Association. $48,089.00 was raised for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

“I was so proud to be a part of this ceremony today to help present the check of collected donations and also thank everyone who donated and showed their support for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation,” said Bendett. “It’s an honor to help take part in raising money for such an amazing cause. These funds will help veterans, Gold Star families and our brave first responders in need of financial aid and support. I look forward to taking part in more events like this in the future. Our veterans, current military members and first responders put their lives on the line to keep us all safe—this is a great way for our communities to give back and honor their service.”
