“There were some parts of Gov. Hochul’s budget presentation that I agree with. We need to focus more on securing our health care system and building our state reserves. However, her plan to direct billions for migrant aid in New York City seems absurd to me. With many families in our state struggling to make ends meet, it’s troubling to see the governor prioritize illegal migrants over our own citizens time and time again. Sending funding that could otherwise be spent on New York residents and communities to migrants still flooding our state is not the step in the right direction our constituents were hoping for.”
