Bendett Secures Four Grants for Recreational Facilities Across the District
Today, Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R,C-Sand Lake) announced $50,000 in grants his office has secured for the towns of Schodack, Bethlehem, Kinderhook and Schaghticoke American Legion Post 731. The funds will be used for recreational improvements across the district. These grants will fund upgrades and new developments that enhance green space and public space for residents.
The grants will be distributed as follows:
- $50,000 to the Town of Schodack for the construction of new pickleball courts in the Schodack Town Park on Schuurman Rd.;
- $50,000 to the Town of Bethlehem for the renovation of old tennis courts in the Elm Ave Town Park in Delmar;
- $50,000 for renovations to the American Legion Post 731 in the Town of Schaghticoke, ensuring the facility continues to serve as a valuable community resource; and
- $50,000 for Basketball Courts and Playground Improvements at Volunteer Park in Valatie in the Town of Kinderhook.
“I have made it a priority to work closely with our local municipal leaders to identify and secure funding for projects that directly benefit our communities. These grants will provide necessary improvements to our parks and recreational facilities, ensuring they remain safe, welcoming spaces for all residents to enjoy. I am committed to investing in our district’s future, and these upgrades are a significant step in enhancing the quality of life for everyone in our community,” said Bendett.
