Bendett Honors Vietnam Veterans at The Capitol

Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R,C-Sand Lake) proudly joined fellow lawmakers, veterans and community members today at the capital to honor and recognize the service and sacrifice of Vietnam Veterans. As part of this important day of remembrance and gratitude, Bendett was honored to welcome William Rohrer of Valatie and John Brownrigg of Sand Lake, two distinguished veterans who served our nation with bravery and dedication.

“Vietnam Veterans Day is a solemn and significant occasion to express our deepest gratitude to the men and women who answered the call to serve,” said Bendett. “William Rohrer and John Brownrigg exemplify the courage and sacrifice of all Vietnam veterans, and it was a privilege to recognize them today in Albany. Their service to our country, both in uniform and in their communities, will never be forgotten.”

Vietnam Veterans Day serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and patriotism of those who fought in one of the most challenging conflicts in American history. Too often, these brave service members did not receive the recognition they deserved upon returning home. Today, New York and the nation reaffirm a commitment to honoring their sacrifices and ensuring their legacy is remembered for generations to come.

“Our Vietnam veterans endured tremendous challenges, both in battle and upon returning home,” Bendett added. “It is our duty to stand with them, support them and make sure their stories of bravery and sacrifice are told and respected.”

Bendett remains dedicated to supporting veterans and their families through legislative efforts and community initiatives that ensure they receive the care, recognition and resources they have earned.
