Pheffer Amato Distributes at Home COVID-19 Self-Test Kits
South Queens, NY – The Office of Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) distributed COVID-19 self-test kits to residents and members of the community. The testing kits, which have FDA emergency use authorization, were passed out at a weekly food distribution at the Nativity Church in Ozone Park, Queens.
“As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, one of our best tools to defend ourselves is to not only get vaccinated and receive the booster shot, but to ensure we have adequate testing options,” said Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato. “I have been working with my colleagues on the federal, state and city levels to increase testing sites, and now I have the ability to provide free at-home testing kits. These tests are safe, reliable and provide timely results,” Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato said.
The Assemblywoman’s team had recently partnered to provide testing kits to senior citizens in Broad Channel, Edgemere Community Civic Association, Ocean Park Tenants Association and The Campaign Against Hunger. Additionally, the Assemblywoman and her staff distributed hand sanitizer and masks to small local businesses.
The Office of Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato received a limited amount of COVID-19 at-home tests and plans to distribute them to local organizations and individuals in need across the 23rd Assembly District until supplies last.
