Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato jumped into the assembly line that was distributing fresh foods and goods to members of the South Queens community and personally handed out testing kits. She also provided additional testing kits to heroic volunteers who were braving the cold weather while helping their neighbors. The Assemblywoman continued to say “Your work is so vital for our community and with so many people depending on you, I want to make sure you are safe, healthy and able to continue this good work next week and for the weeks to come. As we go forward, what you, our neighborhood, our city and state need, I will find a way to get it for you.”
Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato brought boxes of COVID-19 self-testing kits to two locations, Food Emporium and CTown Supermarket, both located in the 23rd Assembly District. She, with her fellow colleagues in government, happily provided tests to individuals and families. Additionally, the Assemblywoman went on to provide the staff of both grocery stores with self-testing kits and commented how “these are the front-facing workers who throughout the pandemic made sure our stores were fully stocked and braved an uncertain future. We will always be grateful to them and this is just one way I can ensure that they continue to be safe.” An estimated 400 testing kits were distributed by the Assemblywoman at these two grocery store locations, with 700 overall being given away over the weekend.
