Official Statement from Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato
South Queens, NY - Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) issued the following statement with regards to the heinous shooting and deaths of Police Officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora:
“Words do not begin to describe the horror and pain I feel with regards to the loss of two of our city’s finest. Police Officer Jason Rivera and Police Officer Wilbert Mora, two young men who donned the uniform of those who have and will always protect us, were killed in an unacceptable shooting. Now more than ever the NYPD needs to know we, elected officials and members of the community, stand in support of them.
I have been a staunch supporter of our men and women in blue and will never wane from that support. It is in times of crisis and sorrow when our city and officers are under attack that we must come together and say with one voice that ‘I support the NYPD’.
May the memories of Police Officer Jason Rivera and Police Officer Wilbert Mora be a blessing and that the families of these heroic men know that this state, city, community and office will not forget them.”
