Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato Brings MTA MetroCard Van to Community
South Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) has partnered with the MTA to bring their mobile van to three different locations over the next few weeks. The van has the capability to help with reduced-fare applications, transfer MetroCard balances and allow for the purchasing of a MetroCard with cash or credit card that can be used with any MTA service.
“This is such a vital service for our community, especially for our seniors as so many of these services are not readily available at stations in our community. While we may have limited transportation services, I want to create more access and accessibility for people to get around our City when dealing with public transportation. I believe it should be easier to apply for the discounts, transfer funds between MetroCards and even purchase a card,” said Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato. The Assemblywoman continued with “we need to make things easier for people, and this van is a great tool to do just that,” said Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato.
The dates and locations for the MetroCard Van are:
- Monday, August 29 at 320 Beach 94th Street (First Congregational Church) from 10am-2pm
- Thursday, September 29 at 92-25 Rockaway Beach Blvd (Queens Public Library at Peninsula) from 10am-12pm
- Thursday, September 29 at 82-35 153rd Avenue (Food Emporium) from 1pm-3pm
