Rockaway Peninsula, NY – New York State Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato presented a New York State Proclamation to the Rockaway Rugby Fishheads Club at the team’s annual dinner to commemorate their 50th anniversary. The team is a competitive New York City Division III club playing in the Metro N.Y. Rugby Football Union, with their home field in Gateway National Recreation Area, Fort Tilden Unit.

You make the Rockaways proud every day,” said the Assemblywoman. “The men who have been on this team have helped ingrain the Fishheads into Rockaway culture. It’s an honor to present you with this proclamation and celebrate your 50th anniversary. This team is a staple of this community, and I cannot wait to see all the fun and victory’s that are in store for this team over the next 50 years.”
