Pheffer Amato at Middle School Career Days in Ozone Park
Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Ozone Park) last Friday was invited to speak at Career Day for two Ozone Park middle schools, JHS 210 – Elizabeth Blackwell and MS 137 – America’s School of Heroes. She spoke to classes at both schools, telling them about her experiences as a community leader, her day to day responsibilities in the Assembly, the process of writing and passing legislation, and helping constituents solve problems in their communities.
“This is an incredible generation,” said Pheffer Amato. “Very inquisitive, very ambitious – and in a time when lots of things are happening in the world, these students are ready to jump in and tackle the challenges. They asked such great questions. I’m honored to have gotten an opportunity to talk to the folks who are going to be leading our society someday. I want to thank the teachers and principals who set up the visits today. I hope these students and their parents stop by our office whenever they want, and that I see them in Albany soon!”
