Pheffer Amato Helps Kick Off HBLC Movie Night
This past Friday, July 21st, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) attended a screening of The Sandlot at the Howard Beach - Lindenwood Civic Association's Movie Night in Charles Park. The movie night was jointly sponsored by the Howard Beach Kiwanis, New York Families for Autistic Children, 106th Precinct P. O. Pete Paese, the 106th Precinct Neighborhood Coordination Officer Program, the National Park Service, the 106th Precinct Auxiliary and the Charles Park Conservancy. The Sandlot is a cult-classic 1993 film about a group of baseball-playing kids in the 1960s.
"I love The Sandlot, and I love HBLC and the 106th, so this was a good night," said Pheffer Amato. "This kind of community event where folks can go out with their families (or a date, or by themselves!), and make memories in a safe environment - we need more nights like this. I want to thank the Civic and the 106th Precinct, and all the folks who came out to support and have a good time!
"And for anyone who didn’t come out – you’re killin’ me, smalls,” added Pheffer Amato, recalling the most memorable line from the film.
