On Wednesday, January 10, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) will host a college planning event with Representatives from the New York State Department of Financial Services. The one-hour workshop includes a presentation, Q&A session and helpful brochures and takeaways on the following subjects:

• Filling out the FAFSA
• Grants
• Scholarships
• Types of loans

“As a parent of a two high school students, I know this is such a crucial service that the NYS Department of Financial Services provides,” said Pheffer Amato. “I am very excited to host this event and appreciate the partnership of NYS DFS and Channel View School for Research. We will be doing outreach for this and another upcoming event to make sure as many constituents, students, and parents, are aware of their opportunities when going off to college. Higher education leads to a better future for our children, which is why I fight so hard to preserve and expand that investment in Albany.”
