Pheffer Amato Secures Mobi-Mat at Beach 10th Street in Far Rockaway
Far Rockaway, Queens- Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Far Rockaway) today announced that in response to a request from her office the New York City Parks Department placed a mobi-mat leading from the boardwalk to the sand at Beach 10th street in Far Rockaway, Queens. Mobi-mats are portable rollout matting that is temporarily laid down at beach entrances across the city to allow beach access for those who have difficulty traversing the sand.
“Going to the beach is wonderful, however getting onto the sand for some can be extremely difficult- mobi-mats help to ensure that more people have equal access to the beach.” said Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato. “Today was a big win not only for the constituents who first called my office about lack of beach access, but for all city residents who have mobility concerns- thank you Parks Department!”
