Pheffer Amato Hosts Successful Naloxone Training at RISE Center

Free sessions were offered as part of a continuing effort to combat opioid epidemic throughout New York State.

Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Far Rockaway) hosted her second free Naloxone Training last Wednesday, August 8th, at the RISE Center in conjunction with the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The training session taught participants how to recognize, respond to, and reverse an opioid overdose using Naloxone.

“To see families lose loved ones to addiction is heartbreaking. This training can give people the necessary knowledge and guidance that can literally help save lives,” Pheffer Amato said. “Thank you to the RISE Center, and to the community who came out to take this life saving training!”
