On Tuesday November 20th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) will host a college planning workshop with Representatives from the New York State Department of Financial Services. The one-hour workshop includes a presentation, Q&A session, helpful brochures and takeaways on the following subjects:

• Filling out the FAFSA
• Grants
• Scholarships
• Types of loans

“As a parent of a high school student, I know this is such a crucial service that the NYS Department of Financial Services provides,” said Pheffer Amato. “I am very excited to host this workshop and appreciate the partnership of NYS DFS and the YMCA! We will be doing outreach to make sure that as many constituents, students, and parents as possible, are aware of their opportunities when planning for college. Higher education leads to a better future for our children, which is why I fight so hard to preserve and expand that investment in Albany.”
