Howard Beach, New York – Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) attended the official grand opening and ribbon cutting of the District 27 Pre-K Center in Howard Beach, Queens. District 27 also opened a new Pre-K Center in Ozone Park later that afternoon. The schools were opened as a result of the “Pre-K For All” initiative launched this past year. According to their website the centers will: “not only concentrate on academics, but we also take pride in developing your child's social and emotional well-being. The structure of daily activities is carefully planned to encourage independence, self-confidence and group cooperation through large group, small group and one-on-one participation in a variety of hands on and interactive experiences.”
