Rockaway, NY – This week, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Rockaway) was appointed as the Assistant Majority Whip to the New York State Assembly Majority Conference by Assembly Speaker Carl. E. Heastie (D-Bronx). The appointment puts Pheffer Amato in a leadership position within the Democratic conference, as she begins her third term after winning re-election last November.

“I am humbled to be named the next Assistant Majority Whip of our conference, and I want to thank the Speaker, Carl E. Heastie, for entrusting me with this responsibility,” Pheffer Amato said. “Throughout my time in the Assembly, I have always been a listener – I meet with groups and work with my colleagues all across the ideological spectrum because we can only move this state forward if we move together.
