Pheffer Amato to Host Discussion on Teen Dating Violence Awareness
South Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) announced that she will be hosting a forum on Thursday, February 18 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on the topic of teen dating violence. “The State of Affairs with Stacey” panel will include representatives from Safe Horizon, Shalom Task Force, and Queens Defenders and candidly discuss resources available for teens, how to support teens in your life as a parent or guardian, promoting healthy relationships, and the process of reporting abuse.
“In recognition of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and other recent events in our community, I feel that it’s important to hold an honest conversation about these issues,” Pheffer Amato said. “I’m excited to engage in conversation with representatives from Safe Horizon, Queens Defenders, and Shalom Task Force. I hope that this forum will empower both teens and their guardians to report abusive scenarios and ask for help when they need it.”
The event will be held over Zoom. Please call 718-945-9550 or email amatos@nyassembly.gov to RSVP and receive the registration link.
