Pheffer Amato Announces Virtual Naloxone Trainings
Rockaway, NY – Today, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) announced that she will host two free naloxone Webex trainings on Tuesday, January 26th from 9:00am to 11:00am, and Wednesday, February 3rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, in partnership with the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Substances. The virtual session will educate participants on how to recognize, respond to, and reverse an opioid overdose using Naloxone. This training session is virtual, free, and open to the public. Participants must be at least 16 years old, and at the end of the training they will either be mailed a naloxone kit or be able to pick one up at a local pharmacy.
“I encourage all my constituents to attend this training, and learn life-saving skills,” Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato said. “The more people who know how to administer Naloxone, the better. I am happy to partner with the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Substances to educate the public and help our community.”
Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato has held numerous naloxone trainings, starting in May of 2018, which has resulted in training hundreds of residents throughout the 23rd Assembly District. Registration for these trainings are required. For more information or to register, call Pheffer Amato’s office at 718-945-9550 or email amatos@nyassembly.gov.
